Step 1. Meet with me.
Choosing the right contractor will be one of the most important decisions you’ll make in the entire building process.
Looking at a list of satisfied clients and completed projects that the contractor has accomplished is usually the first step in determining which contractor is right for you. However, it is just as important that the contractor has good communication skills and the ability to understand exactly what YOU need and want (the things that are important to you).
You do not need to have your architectural plans finalized or even begun before we meet. A majority of my clients consult with me about what they have in mind before they contact an architect. The reason for this is that they know that I am “hands on” and know the practical side of building. In addition, my staff and I know material and labor costs, can analyze your time requirements and the level of skill required for each portion of the project.
Step 2. Ask your questions.
I enjoy answering questions. The more questions you ask, the more I will understand your building concept, what is important to you as well as your budget and time requirements.
Step 3. Come see us at work.
Seeing is believing. I always keep several “guest hard hats” at the office. You will see, at any Brackett Construction job site, all the components of our construction skills in action. It’s a good way to get a “sneak preview” of the “coming attraction” of your own building or renovation.
Step 4. Arrange for an architect.
If you have not arranged for an architect, I would be happy to recommend one to you as I have worked with many architects specializing in many different types of construction.
Step 5. What the architect will do…
An architect helps you to design your building and creates a working set of drawings and written specifications, making sure that the design complies with local building-codes.
Step 6. The architect then sends your plans to the builder…
Once we receive the plans it usually takes a few weeks to bid a project. When our estimate is complete I can sit down with you to review the bid and explain each portion it to you. I also review how we arrived at our numbers and answer any questions you have regarding schedules, materials and the individual costs of the project.
Step 7. Should you choose Brackett Construction as your builder…
I am personally involved in every construction project and take a very “hands on” approach at my company.
As a result, I have long standing relationships with our principle subcontractors and have specialists in concrete, structural steel, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, telecommunications, millwork and cabinetry, and all of the other trades and craftsmen needed to build your project. You will find that my field personnel, subcontractors and I are in constant communication with each other in order to make sure that your project is being built correctly and on time.
At Brackett Construction we know that communication is a key part of the success of a construction project and have regular meetings with our customers and the architect to ensure that your project is being built to your exact specifications.
Step 8. After the Grand Opening celebration is over…
I stay in touch with my customers. After your project is completed, I am always available to help with any of your questions or concerns.
Brackett Construction’s growth depends on customer satisfaction and word of mouth referrals. Your experience with my company’s commitment to excellence and quality is the best guarantee of our future success.
I look forward to working with you and making your building project come true.
